Q1. Setup.exe has encounted a problem and needs to close. Error report sent to Microsoft.

Q2. The only hardware change was LG USB mouse That comes with the scanner.

http://www.lg.com/uk/support-product/lg-MCL1ULOGE .I tried loading any updates, but the problem still there.

I will now run FIXIT program.-Did not find any problems

Hi,

Method 1:

I would suggest you to run the FIXIT from the link provided and check.

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows

Method 2:

If the issue still persists then you maystart the computer in a clean boot state and then try installing the software for the device.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a 'clean boot' state

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting step, follow the “Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state” in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.

Hello,

1. Fixit.does not find any prolems.

2. Clean boot did not solve anything except that I have to type in the Microsoft Windows Validation Code which keeps popping up in dos with in 3 days!

I am disappointed in Microsoft.

I think it's time to give this problem up.

I thank you for the info, but it's not worth carring on.

I have found by trial and error that the mouse scanner will not work in XP or windows 7, only works in windows 8.
